Dog lick mats are one of the simplest and most effective enrichment tools you can add to your dog's routine. Spread peanut butter, wet food, yogurt, or mashed banana across the textured surface, and your dog gets 10 to 20 minutes of focused, calming licking that releases endorphins and reduces anxiety.
This collection includes SodaPup eMats in multiple designs, Project Hive scented lick discs, suction cup mats for bath time, and multi-function lick mat and slow feeder combos. Surface patterns range from shallow grooves for beginners to deep interlocking channels for experienced lickers who need a longer challenge.
Lick mats are especially useful during baths, grooming, vet visits, thunderstorms, fireworks, crate training, and any situation where your dog needs to settle. The repetitive licking motion is self-soothing, similar to how a pacifier works for infants. Freezing the mat extends the session and adds a cooling element on hot days.
How to Use a Dog Lick Mat Spread a thin, even layer (not a thick glob) across the entire surface. Push the food into the grooves with a spatula or spoon. For longer sessions, freeze for two to four hours before serving. Supervise early sessions to make sure your dog licks rather than chews the mat.
